Campers entering Grades 4-8 can choose between full day On-Campus Classes, Summer Studies or full day Off-Campus Programs. Combine a variety of these options to make an action packed summer adventure!
On campus
Campers entering Grades 4-8 get to choose their Gator Grab Bag classes and design their own camp day based on their specific interests. Choose single or double period Gator Grab Bag classes from the tech world, fine and performing arts, science classes, sports and swimming, or do a full-day of musical theater or half-day of cooking. Be sure to download the printable grid to see all the amazing classes.
Important things to know:
- There are 4 periods in a camp day. Create your Gator Grab Bag weekly schedule by choosing single or double periods or choose a full day program.
- Campers may not take the same class twice in a single session.
- Cooking with Tiny Chefs has extra material fees. (Must choose 2 additional classes to make a full day.)
- Some classes are double periods and last all morning or all afternoon.
- We recommend taking a wide variety of classes.
- Please note: The Stone Ridge pool has a shallow end of 4 feet. Campers must demonstrate proficiency to our Aquatics staff or a Stone Ridge swim safety vest will be required.
Off-Campus
For the camper who is ready to venture off our campus, we offer a variety of one-week camps that let our campers explore the DMV and try new adventures.

2024 JUNIOR ADVENTURE CAMP (GRADES 4-7)
Our full-day Junior Adventure Camp programs sell out every year! Designed for active, adventurous kids who are ready for a challenge off-campus, the activities vary by week and may include: ropes courses, zip lines, water parks, indoor adventure parks, white water rafting on the Shenandoah in West Virginia and best of all, take a chartered bus to Guppy Gulch High Adventure. (A note about Guppy Gulch: Your kids will think they are in Florida with Gulf Coast blue water, real palm trees, with warm tropical breezes and water temperatures in the upper 70s. The quarry lake is 13 acres full of big water inflatables for climbing, bouncing, and splashing — waterslides, zip line, sun decks, boulder jumping and climbing walls.) For white water rafting, join us on the Shenandoah as it tumbles into the Potomac, carving a spectacular 6.5 mile watercourse through the Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy a riverside lunch while relaxing & swimming with friends. **Campers must bring a bag lunch and filled water bottles daily. View the weekly itinerary.

2024 ADVENTURE CAMP (GRADES 7-12)
This outrageously exciting & extremely fun Adventure Camp is a blast! Are you an adventurous person who wants a fun daily challenge? Test your limits and increase your self-confidence as you join our amazing adventure team. Activities may include: high ropes courses, zip lines, and white water raft challenge in West Virginia, roller coasters at Six Flags, indoor rock climbing and best of all, take a chartered bus to Guppy Gulch High Adventure. (A note about Guppy Gulch: Your kids will think they are in Florida with Gulf Coast blue water, real palm trees, with warm tropical breezes and water temperatures in the upper 70s. The quarry lake is 13 acres full of big water inflatables for climbing, bouncing, and splashing — waterslides, zip line, sun decks, boulder jumping and climbing walls.) (A note about the Whitewater Team Rafting Challenge: Your group will have a blast on one of the most scenic stretches of the Potomac River passing by historic Harper's Ferry and the C&O Canal before converging with the Shenandoah. This unique program encourages the campers to have a healthy, competitive spirit while completing on-water team-oriented challenges. MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER STUDIES ENRICHMENT CLASSES
**STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO ATTEND JUST a MORNING CLASS FROM 9-11:30 AM OR JUST an AFTERNOON CLASS FROM 12:30-3:00 PM or THEY can take a morning class/afternoon class and camp classes to make a full-day.
COOL MATH SKILLS FOR HOT SUMMER DAYS (GRADES 5-6)
This course provides a review of basic fourth, fifth, and sixth grade math concepts to strengthen students' foundational skills. The goal of this course is to review previously taught topics and preview concepts they will learn in their math classes in the fall. In addition to skills review, students will learn and practice a few test-taking strategies for math tests. The second half of this course will include outdoor, hands-on, STEM-based activities and projects involving real-world applications of the highlighted concepts. Some of the topics will include fractions, decimals, and percent applications.
- Dates and Times: July 8-12, JULY 15-19, JULY 22-26 from 11:30 am-3:00 pm (Period 3 & Period 4) **Please note: Students may take this class for one week, for two weeks, or for all three weeks. Each week will have a different focus but all weeks will be rooted in strengthening basic skills.

The goal of this course is to review previously learned concepts and preview topics they will learn in their math classes in the fall. In addition to skills review, students will learn and practice a few test-taking strategies for math tests. The second half of this course will include outdoor, hands-on, STEM-based activities and projects involving real-world applications of the highlighted concepts. Some of the topics will include solving equations and geometry applications.

CRICUT CRAFTING CLASS (GRADES 5-8)
Embark on a crative journey this summer with our Cricut Crafting Class! Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of crafting as we delve into the art of creating decals, crafting customized pouches, and personalizing your water bottles. Explore the fundamentals of cutting paper, vinyl, and iron-ons using Cricut machines. Join us for a crafting experience that unlocks the magic of creativity!

ENCHANTING SUMMER ESCAPADE (GRADES 5-8)
This immersive and lively class is designed for students of all ages who want to dive into the whimsical world of William Shakespeare's classic comedy.
Students will step into the ethereal realm of fairies, mischievous lovers, and theatrical mayhem as participants are guided through the exploration and performance of scenes from A Midsummer Night's Dream. Whether you're a seasoned actor or a first-time performer, this class promises a unique blend of learning, laughter, and creativity.

GRAMMAR BOOTCAMP (GRADES 5-8)
This course provides students with an overview of basic grammar skills necessary for clear writing and expression. The goals of the program include an enriched understanding of basic grammar as well as improved fluency and sentence structure in written work.
Students will review the parts of speech, sentence construction, and punctuation necessary for effective communication and writing. Instruction will include structured exercises as well as games, group work, and individual instruction.

IT'S TRUE! NON-FICTION READING COMPREHENSION STRATEGIES (GRADES 5-6)
Solid non-fiction reading strategies are key to academic success! This class will tackle approaches to high-interest, non-fiction texts. Your child will learn how to identify key concepts, recognize how a text is organized, practice previewing and predicting, monitor comprehension, and summarize salient points. The class's goals include: helping students learn to enjoy non-fiction and read it for pleasure, igniting their curiosity, and developing students into strong critical thinkers.

LEARN SPANISH THROUGH ART (GRADES 5-6)
The focus of this course is on teaching Spanish through art. We will dive into the magnificent worlds of Gaudi, Picasso, Velazquez, and Botero. Students will learn Spanish vocabulary related to shapes, colors, and numbers through an entertaining study of some of these painters' master works. Students will also get the chance to make their own artwork. This course is a fun mix of vocabulary, art movements, and arts and crafts.

MINDSET MATHEMATICS (GRADES 4-8)
Students will enjoy interactive, visual, inquiry-based mathematics lessons that encourage them to explore mathematical ideas in depth and cultivate a growth mindset! Inspired by the Stanford Graduate School of Education, this course is designed around specific themes: algebraic thinking and problem-solving, the visualization of mathematics and pattern seeking, and building number sense through connections between representations, ideas, and numbers.

Ignite your imagination this summer with our dynamic class, "Sizzling Summer Tales: A Creative Writing Adventure." Whether you're an aspiring author, a seasoned storyteller, or someone with a passion for words, this class is your ticket to exploring the realms of creativity under the sun.

THE VISUAL NOTE-TAKING TOOLKIT (GRADES 7-8)
Note-taking, a critical tool for students to employ across subject areas, involves learning to record information in a condensed and organized way to improve engagement and memory. This class will build students’ skills in identifying main ideas and important details across a variety of texts. Students will engage strategies from linear outline formatting and Cornell notes to non-linear concept webbing, exploring both handwritten and digital formats. They will practice enhancing their notes with visual cues to boost retention through Sketchnoting. Finally, we will explore how to make your notes a tool you can use for studying!

WORD STUDY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADES 5-6)
a Students will take a deep dive into advanced spelling patterns, syllabification, and Greek and Latin roots and affixes to strengthen word attach for reading, writing, and vocabulary. This class will engage mulit-sensory practice, active word categorization activities, and fun games that target the middle school word sleuth. critical Dates: July 10-14
