About the Director

Angie welcomes campers

Angie Evans Romano is the founder and director of Stone Ridge Summer CampUs. She has been greeting campers with a big smile (and often with a funny hat on) at the carpool for 25 years. Her warm and energetic welcome is a wonderful way for your camper to start the day.

Prior to coming to Stone Ridge in the fall of 1995, Angie graduated cum laude with a B.A. from the College of William & Mary in American Studies. She earned a full-athletic/academic scholarship, was a basketball captain, and 1000+ point scorer at William & Mary. Angie was selected as Rookie of the Year for the Colonial Athletic Association in 1988 and held a national Division I record for three-point shots. After graduation, she went to work for the Women’s Sports Foundation in NYC helping to increase opportunity, recognition and funding for girls and women in sports.

Over the last two + decades, Angie has had the privilege of holding many positions at Stone Ridge including: head varsity basketball coach, Athletic Director, and she is currently the Director of Summer CampUs and the Afterschool CampUs program.

Stone Ridge Summer CampUs was Angie's idea in the summer of 1998. The camp started with about 30 kids and has grown to now serve the needs of 300-400 kids daily. Angie loves being the Director of Summer CampUs and continues to be inspired by the students, campers, faculty, and the Sacred Heart mission. She counts herself blessed to be a part of this community.

Angie makes camp memories for a lifetime for your child.
